Ardagh Lithanial, a proud young Sidhe prince, becomes the target of his paranoid and suspicious brother, Eirithan, and is banished from his homeland to a hostile land that he must overcome in order to restore his name. Original.
When I read that Josepha Sherman had passed away, my first reaction was a purely selfish one. I had read some of her books in high school and enjoyed them enough to keep them even all these years later, and I had always hoped for a third book in her Sidhe series. Even sixteen years later, I still sometimes checked out of the remote possibility....
Anyway, I re-read this one in memory of her. It has its weaknesses, being what it is, but I always found her stories engaging and it certainly hit all my happy points when I was in high school. ;)
I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of tale’s that I have read about Cu Chulainn. Josepha Sherman, paints such a beautiful picture of both Fairy land and the Irish homeland with its green and misty heath’s and rocky shores. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys high fantasy.
I quite enjoyed this. Ardagh Lithaniel is kicked out of his Sidhe homeworld when his elder brother, who is the King, is paranoid that he is trying to kill him. He finds a home with the high king of Ireland and falls in love with a human woman, a young widow who is the daughter of their bard and trained in his historical methods. The Christian church which comes from Rome is led by a Satanist and he has to help them save themselves. It was worth a read.
