"Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" is an engaging and purpose driven book about waste in the world and how to help properly dispose and reduce the amount of garbage that is thrown away each day. I chose this book to read with the student I tutor because it is not only Non-fictional, but it is informative and credible. The generation that will follow us is burdened with the continuous aide in helping the climate crisis and pushing to become more green. This book gives readers the opportunity think further and do their own self discovery about their local waste systems and how to they can help dispose properly in their community. Even in 2021, many small American towns have minimal resources to recycle properly. Great read for young readers.

Audience- This book would be great for primary grades starting with first grade to introduce this topic to them. It would work for both boys and girls. The book has a lot of pictures and is set up like a notebook so it is easy for them to relate to. The extra information that is in the back would allow the younger children to also understand the book.

Appeal- Recycling is a huge deal in today's society so this would appeal to children because it is approaching the subject in a basic way that they will understand, especially having pictures. This would also appeal to students because it not only talks about the United States recycling, it talks about different countries. This shows students that not only the USA is trying to save the planet, everyone is.

Application- I would apply this to a lesson where we are talking about the earth and what has been happening to it throughout all the years humans have been on earth. I would talk about what they can do to help save animals and other aspects of the earth. They would be able to read this book an think of examples of what they can do around the school. They can work together to make a project that they would also be able to use in their daily life, not just at school.
