The phenomenal impact of The Prayer of Jabez is shown by reports of changed lives, expanded ministries, and spiritual breakthroughs among believers everywhere. Now women have their own unique version, written by Bruce Wilkinson's lifetime partner in marriage, that is full of significance for women's roles and ministry opportunities in God's kingdom. A must-read for every woman, whether she has read The Prayer of Jabez or not, this book addresses important questions such as, How can a busy mom expand her territory without neglecting the most important territory she already has, her family? Darlene Marie Wilkinson's warm, personable approach reaches out to her reader, encouraging her to become like Jabez and experience the extraordinary life.
The Lord wants you increase your territory....learn to identify opportunities that could be part of His expansion program for your life.....small, but mighty read!!! Don't miss it!!!
"The Prayer of Jabez" as it can specifically pertain to women. I read the first one; I liked this one too. I will try it for 30 days and see what happens (that is the challenge).
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! this is a great inspirational book that puts things in prospected & help you see what is really important in life...i recommend it to all!
I love to start my day with a little Jesus and this book was just the thing. It gave me a new prayer to pray each day. I can't wait to see how God uses this prayer to make changes in my life.
A quick inspiring read. I liked it as much as Bruce Wilkinson’s original The Prayer Of Jabez. I found this version, by his wife Darlene, with focus on women’s lives specifically, to be motivating and encouraging. This will most likely be another one of those books that I’ll reread, and refer back to often.
For such a tiny study, this was jam packed with lessons in kingdom living. I was glad to do this with a dear friend over several weeks, constantly keeping His word in our day to day and opening up helpful and transformative discussion. Highly recommend
I found this book among my grandmother's belongings and decided to take it as a sign that I should read it. Perhaps I should not have given the message of the book is not great.
The first thing that frustrated me was the author's need to take a fairly open-ended prayer and assign 90 pages of meaning to it that felt absolutely unrelated to the prayer itself. The second thing that frustrated me was that it was a female writer with a Ph.D. taking a man's prayer and saying "He is speaking to us, women!" Ma'am, no he was not. He probably didn't even consider women anything in his eyes beyond property. Third thing that frustrated me about this book was that there was a lot of "I used to live a busy life then my husband and I decided it would be better to live a simpler one and when I prayed like Jabez, I found my answers" which ultimately meant that she stopped working to focus on being at home. I think it takes a lot of privilege to be able to become a doctor of anything then decide after all of that work that it is better to be at home and then to claim it was this particular man's prayer from some thousands of years ago that led her to such revelations.
After finishing it, I knew the message of this book was not for me. In fact, I feel like perhaps it was my grandmother's way of telling me to continue doing exactly what I have been doing and work hard and bring about my own rewards and gifts through my own hard work.
God’s blessing cam be either external or internal for us and mostly takes place in the midst of difficulty. The more blessed we become, the more it will overflow to others.
There are three things that will happen when you pray this prayer... 1—God will expand your territory right where you will stand 2—God will expand your territory by asking you to step up 3—God will expand your territory by asking you to to step into someone else’s life.
He will do this all by having you just by bringing what you have at the moment. What matter most is that you surrender to Him and bring it and place it in His hands to use it however way He desires fo His glory.
I read this book several years ago. I've picked it up and read it again occasionally. For some reason now seemed like a good time to do that again.
The lessons are short and easy to read. But the take-away is larger than the time it takes to read the material. Once again, I walk away from this reading with much to think about and consider. I'll come back to this, Jabez's prayer has lifelong lessons in it.
Darlene Marie Wilkinson presented at a women's conference at Fair Play Presbyterian Church today. She's quite good - her husband's books are some of my all-time favorites. She was selling her book - and autographed a copy for me. I purchased another to share with my business partner...can't wait to begin....
I love this book, and now I am reading and studying "The Prayer of Jabez Bible Study" by her husband Bruce Wilkinson, which is the first book I read, then I read her book for women, and now studying his book, then I will study her book for women too. The book is awesome! I must buy Darlene's bible study book now. Great!
Very good. Darlene does a wonderful job in taking you through this prayer and what it means. How you can apply it to your life. This is one prayer that I try to say daily.
I have re-read this several times over the years and find something new and meaningful each time. A deceptively simple book with the potential to create enormous change.
The story of a girl who wanted to have a better view of the parade gave me insight into the heart of God concerning his willingness to help us. Having a vantage point in every area of our lives is my heart's desire and by applying the principles of Jabez prayer God will grant me what I request for and then I will enjoy the journey of watching the victory parade that Jesus is conducting.
In so few words - He can change your heart, your soul, your life. Pray this prayer with assurance that Jesus will bring light to every shadow and fulfill every hope you have. He truly is everything!!!
It was a good read and prayer was challenging when each party was broken down. So little but so powerful. The book was inclusive as well for all women not just the married
