My mother gave this book to me as a present on Christmas Day 2004. This will be my second time reading the book. I got so much out of it the first time I read it that I had to read it again. I know it's a daily devotional, but I decided to read it like a normal book by just plowing through it. And I got a lot out of it the second time I read it. When I was younger, I would listen to Chuck Swindoll on the radio before going to bed. He's been one of those spiritual giants in my life... someone who made the Word clear to me. So, what a great present from my loving mother! Thanks, Mom.
Also read the book from January 1, 2007 through April 21, 2007.
This was an excellent devotional book. The devotionals start with a scripture verse and then Dr. Swindoll shares an inspirational thought that is right to the point and leaves you thinking about it. A perfect way to start or end your day!
Bedside Blessings is a small book, 5 1/2 inches by just under 4 1/2 inches. Most pages contain just a paragraph or two from Chuck Swindoll and a Bible verse. It takes its theme from Psalm 63:6 (NASB): “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.” It’s just the right size for the nightstand, just the right length for a thought to begin or end the day with (or turn to in the middle of the night.)
This was my daily devotional reading for 2021 started on January 1st. This book helped me so much to make it through last year as it was a very tough year. I love this book so much and it will always mean so much to me.
Hands down my favorite devotional book! After many years trying to tape the book together, we finally find the English official translation and ordered it to Sweden!
