Illus. in full color by the author. "Isabelle is upset because she's the smallest in the family. When the circus comes to town, the clowns observe her tumbling skills and ask her to star in a performance. Isabelle shines but after the performance, she realizes it's nice to be little sometimes too. Written in short sentences featuring simple words, this easy-to-read book should be popular."-- Booklist.

Isabelle is the youngest daughter of Babar and she is very small. She does not like to be so small because she cannot do a lot of the same things her older and bigger siblings can do. She wishes that she was bigger so she could do more fun things like go to school, ride a big bike, or go to bed later. One day the circus came to town and Isabelle tells her mom and dad that she is going to be a circus star one day, but she does not know that day, is today. Isabelle becomes a part of the circus and she loves it. I really liked the illustrations in this book because they were simple enough to not distract from the words, but great perfect for young readers because of the primary colors.
This is a fun story about Isabelle who is often sad because she is too little to do things. When the circus comes to town she gets to show off her talent as a star in the show. She realizes that it is nice to just be little sometimes and not have to do everything grown ups do.
This book is full of site words, great for kindergarten and first grade. The illustrations go great with the words for those who are unsure of the text. It has a good message for those students who are the youngest in the family or are short. I liked it, it was an easy.
