Although I generally like oxford series, this one was a bit of a dissapointment to me. Before I state any cons though, let me clarify that- I AM RATING 1997 EDITION.- This needs to be highlighted. Why I did this? I purchased it, second hand to make sure it's worth buying the new edition. But It discouraged me, to say the least. I found the content quite bizzare. In each chapter of each specialty, significant topics are mixed up with far less importan, let alone frequent ,clinical aspects. This makes it difficult to concentrate on key points, and to make things worse, many key points are left out, and not discussed at all! I know the book is not supposed to be a comprehensive list of all clinical topics, but it failed to present points in a hierarchical, organized way, from more to less significant.
In addition, there are entire chapters missing, for example, heart diseases in pediatric section. Of course no graphs included. ( that it expected though since it is a very old edition)
It left me with the impression of a quick-designed manual, not serving its purpose at all.

I like this series of Oxford Hanbook of... They are very comprehensive and easy to read plus when you need they always give you advice in right time. This one is perfect for getting familiar with specific situation, which are not that common or rather unexpected in general practice. I have the small version and it was worth of my cash.

I read this book a long time ago when I was still in medical school in 2005-2010 (so most likely its older version). Definitely a must-read textbook for medical students, junior physicians, or medical doctors.

A lot is packed into this book. A little too much I think, but as a reference book it is definitely useful to have in your pocket or locker.
