A nice, easy reader, good for the struggling reading child or for a child who wants something to read for fun. This book would probably be most enjoyed by those who have seen the movie, and know who all of these characters are and what the plot is. For those who have not seen the movie (raises hand) the story is a bit confusing, very abbreviated, and this condensed version appears to skip a whole lot of what may be important details. Mainly this just names character names, and quickly progresses the story as who is a friend and who is a foe.
This storybook follows the movie by the same name, but it is blocky at places. Leaving out some of the story so you are kind of wondering where the characters came from etc. But if you are familiar with the movie then you won't be lost. but if you haven't and only have read the book there are some things you'll wonder about simply because they left it out to make the story shorter.
Shrek doesn't want to be King after his father in law dies; so he must go and find the next in line for the crown. With the help of his friends they find him and help him to know his rightful place.
it was good but the movie arthur came and was like wait wait wait lets skip the battle but the big battle was about to start wich i was pretty mad about that arthur just ruind the movie
My daughter has not seen the Shrek movies yet but enjoyed this book a lot. It is written really nicely, skipping over the boring bits of the movie and really moving the story along.
