Medical Language is a medical terminology text that truly immerses readers within the language of medicine, so that students can apply their vocabulary within a real-world context. As opposed to fostering rote memorization, this book engages students in an interactive learning experience that will give them a vital tool and inspire them to become truly proficient in medical language.
I had to read this book for my Medical Terminology course. It is written in a very clear and approachable way, provided a great high-level primer for my accompanying Anatomy coursework, and I will keep my copy for reference and providing information to others in the future. I wish that the term summary pages (succinct gathering of newly introduced terms from the chapter) and practice pages were gathered at the ends of each chapter; it was at times frustrating to page back and forth between them. I assume they are structured this way along with intermittent practice pages to ensure you review and complete these as you continue through, so it probably can’t be helped. Anyway, I really appreciated this book and would recommend it to anyone seeking a basic understanding of medical terminology!
I actually enjoyed reading this! The information is presented in an easy to understand way and there is a lot of reinforcement throughout the entire book.
