Here is the unassuming little book that charmed its way up the bestseller lists and now has over 1.2 million copies in print. This third edition of CHILDREN-S LETTERS TO GOD reveals again the surprising pleasures and provocations of what happens when kids decide to send a letter off to their maker. Whether posing a question, begging a favor, or expressing doubt or joy, these letters are notable for their refreshing directness, unexpected humor, and startling clarity of thought. This book will make you smile. I particularily liked the letters regarding nature and animals. Here's some of my favorites:

Dear God,
Do plastic flowers make you mad? I would be if I made the real ones.
Lucy

Dear God,
I like how you made dogs in different flavors.
Judy

Dear God,
Is mother nature in your family?
Linda

Dear God,
I hope ants are not special because we squish them all the time.
Dennis

Dear God,
Please make it so dogs live as long as people.

This books gives a peek into the thoughts of children who are guileless. Their hopes, dreams, wishes and critiques show what innocence is. It's heartbreaking to go through some of the letters. The letters that a child wrote probably captured them better than any picture could.

The text is a bit dated today as it was written in the sixties, but the content is still great. Good to keep nearby when reflecting theologically

Sometimes very profound. A good reminder of the fact that complicated ideas can lie behind simple words.

It is a book of questions asked to God by various children. One of the questions was sad, but the rest of the questions warms your heart and soul.
