Heat It Up is the fourth book in the Out of Uniform series. I read it as part of the Out of Uniform Box Set, by Elle Kennedy. This is a short, uber steamy and sweet little story that I enjoyed.

Thomas Becker is thirty two years old and is the new leader of the SEAL Team. Becker is just getting over the finalization of his divorce from a fourteen year marriage. He’s also recovering from a gun shot wound he received during a dangerous mission.

Jane Harrison is twenty eight years old and is a journalist for a magazine in Los Angeles. She is in San Diego to try to get an interview from Thomas Becker who led the team to rescue her sister. Jane suffers from claustrophobia and while trying to convince Becker to an interview, she finds herself locked in a stuck elevator with the sexy, frustrating man. When she starts to panic, let’s just say that they find a very good way to distract her!

Beautiful Seductive Image & Photo (Free Trial) | Bigstock

The chemistry between these two is through the roof hot! But, Jane is only in town for the interview, and Becker is most definitely not looking for a relationship, and he’s not a one night stand kind of guy. But Jane proposes an option! She’s in town for a week, so why should they not enjoy their attraction during that time. So, they agree to a one week fling.

Of course, as the week progresses, their feelings grow stronger. Things start to feel a little too real. Jane’s time is almost up. Becker should just walk away now before his heart gets any more involved, shouldn’t he?

Heat It Up (Out of Uniform, #4) by Elle Kennedy

This is a very steamy, very sexy short story. These two steamed up the pages. I enjoy reading these between longer books. It’s a perfect break with a quick happy ever after. The next book in the series is Heat of the Night.

Lieutenant Thomas Becker, the new leader of legendary SEAL Team Fifteen. Is not a very social being…rather he keeps to himself…you know those loner and silent types!!! But wow…who would have guessed that under that hot, ripped sexy body ……..….ooh….an intense and passionate man!!! photo 36297826432862de9ef31f7ffde15deb_zps9f07f1fc.jpg
Jane Harrison is a woman I totally identify with.

She’s gorgeous….of course…sexy, smart, career-orientated and bold and totally up-front.

Absolute total opposites, right??? Would one ever think that these two would connect????

Here’s a guy, who has just divorced his very career-minded wife and a woman who just happens to be totally into her career as a journalist…..why would he want to meet up with the same type of woman that he has just escaped from???

Allright, she’s a gorgeous and intelligent and sexy woman, who happens to turn him on the first time they meet…… and okay he can’t resist …the intense and hot encounter whilst stranded with her in an elevator...what a luck that they were the only ones inside……..you see, opportunity knocks when you lesst expect it!!!!!
photo tumblr_mw3bq8nwjO1svb9fpo1_500_zpsa331ef60.gif No, definitely no……yes, that’s exactly what he tells Jane when she propositions him…no, I did not get it wrong…..they had the passionate “moment”…
 photo download2_zps48465d8d.jpg
........he said NO......after that!!!!

Jane does not believe in NO!!!

See why she’s such a fab woman!!!
 photo e0350732abaf4f54b632ca529fd78943_zps3da45dea.jpg
She perseveres and does not give up on this gorgeous specimen!!! Naturally, she gets into his head and into other places……so okay, he will just have some fun with her, get her out of his system, and have some wild and hot sex and then move on to finding his “right” kind of woman.

The dialogue is witty and sparkles and you can’t help having a smile on your face as you follow these two lovable characters on their little “trip” of discovery!!!!

In the end, Jane might be that strong and dominant one but does Becker show her who the master is in the bedroom. Raw, hot and so sexy!!!!

And how great to see more of the characters from the previous stories……..the guys are still giving advice to their teammates and their women have also now become members of the advice-giving group….Carson and Holly have experience so why not share some good tips……
"So, why were you stir crazy? Did you get in a fight with that sexy-as-sin redhead you were with the other day?"
"Not really." He gave a noncommittal shrug.
"Then why the hell aren't you with her?"

Holly suddenly poked her head into the living room. "With who?" she said, looking super interested.
"Are you gossiping? If so, I want to know everything."
"I'm giving the Lieutenant love advice, babe. Mind your own business."
"Oh God," she said with a groan. "Thomas, don't listen to him. He's terrible at giving advice."

Becker found himself grinning as Holly bounced back into the room, her green eyes flashing with curiosity. She flopped down on the armchair across from the couch, leaned forward and narrowed her eyes at Becker. "Okay, tell me everything. I'm much better at this kind of thing. Who is she?"

I am truly immersed into this series and this is one great book!

Lieutenant Thomas Becker and Jane Harrison

Another fast lust for the SEAL boys. This time it happens inside a stopped elevator.

Becker saved Jane's sister during a mission. Jane is a career-focused woman who chases him for an interview. He declined, they got stuck in the lift, sex happens.

Becker has barely survived his divorce. He does not want a relationship, he does not want another career-focused woman. Jane just wants to have fun. So, they decide to have a fling for a week.

Suprisingly it does not work, because they fall in love.

Dirty talking, a few fantasies exploited. Generally a hot book with a HFN feeling in the end. My favourite story so far.

A great story of the Out of Uniform series.

Jane is the type of character I really appreciate. Smart, honest, open-minded, confident, and ultra-feminine. A true seductress.

Since when had this turned into more than just sex? It was Jane’s fault, for being so damn likable.

Thomas Becker is gorgeous (of course), tall and muscular (what else?), a silent-type hero with suppressed, all-consuming passion.

Jane felt her cheeks grow warm. What was Becker like? Intense, she wanted to say. She thought about the way he moved inside her body and added passionate to the list. Thoughtful, because he made her breakfast. But as she opened her mouth to respond, the only word she really wanted to say was mine.

In contrast with the previous stories, now the male character resists starting a meaningful relationship, but only because he wants more, a housewife-type woman and kids, right now, and Jane doesn’t seem to be the type.

I really enjoyed the erotica in this novella. Actually that’s what all of these stories should be: short, pleasurable, heated readings for having fun. I expected nothing more, and Heat It Up perfectly lived up to my expectations.

I loved Jane and Beck together, and the appearance of Holly and Carson was awesome again.

Great, steamy story and loveable characters!

TOTAL hotness! I just gobbled this one up! It's only 60 pages or so, but somehow it felt longer (in a good way). I swear Elle Kennedy does better with these novellas (rather than a full length book)--she adds just enough backstory, plot, and character development to go with all the sizzling sex scenes, and things move fast, fast, fast! And OMG, her heroes are masters of the "dirty talk"--whew!

This one is #4 in her Out Of Uniform series, which features Navy SEALs based in San Diego. The plot of this story revolves around 32-year-old Lieutenant Thomas Becker, the new leader of legendary SEAL Team Fifteen. Becker (as unfortunately he is called...I had trouble getting the image of Ted Danson out of my head...) is new to the team and to California, having moved west for his ambitious model wife Alice's career six months ago. Two months after the move the marriage finally came apart-- after 14 years together Becker realized they didn't want the same things. Becker was ready to settle down with a stay-at-home wife and a couple of kids--Alice was all about doing anything to advance her career. Becker vows the next woman he gets involved with will be the total opposite of the self-absorbed Alice.

Becker is recently back from a mission where he and his team rescued a famous female photographer being held hostage by some Colombian rebels. Now the woman's sister, 28-year-old curvy red-head Jane Harrison (who's a journalist) would like an interview with Becker to include in a feature story about her sister's rescue. Becker turns her down flat--he likes to keep a low profile--but is verry attracted to the voluptuous beauty with her blunt talk and sassy ways...not to mention her obvious physical attributes. But she's a carreer gal (like Alice) so what's the point of starting something that will go nowhere?

When Jane first lays eyes on Becker...she can't help but drool. He may have average, attractive features, but it's his ripped body that makes her heart flutter. When he refuses her interview request, she's irked, but decides to respect his wishes. Then they end up on the same elevator together, which breaks down...and Jane is claustrophobic...and Becker must do something to distract the panicking Jane...so they kiss...and the kiss leads to some hot sex in the elevator...which stuns both of them. Jane is ready to see where this could lead, but Becker is still reluctant. After all, Jane is just another Alice, right? And he's not ready to have another relationship yet. But he sure did enjoy Jane...Hmm...Jane's only going to be in town for one week, and she's very willing to spend her time under the sheets with the sexy Becker, what can it hurt if they keep this casual? Unless...they happen to fall in love?

This was one steamy read. If you like heroes who excel at "dirty talk" (and deeds), you'll love this one! The outgoing Jane and the more reserved/loner Becker were total opposites, yet somehow they worked. And their sex life was off-the-charts. The only thing they had to overcome was Becker's insistence on comparing/equating Jane to his ex-wife. It took Becker a while to open up his eyes and see that Jane was the perfect compliment to him, but once he did, you knew this couple was going to have one passion-filled life ahead of them.

I ended up liking both Jane and Becker. It was a bit unusual that Jane was the more dominant of the two--she was bold and outspoken and not afraid to make the first move, and Becker happily followed. And of course he had no problem taking control once they were in the bedroom...

A well-done addition to EK's SEALs series--it was extra-spicy hot with some likable characters, appearances/updates of past characters in the series, and a mostly believable storyline. If you've read and enjoyed the first three in the series you're sure to enjoy this one too. This one might be my favorite of the bunch so far--it certainly lives up to its title! 5 stars

Warning: This book contains explicit sex (oral and anal); an "imagined" ménage; and lots and lots of "dirty talk". Not for the faint of heart.

Heck yeah, this one was pretty good...

and the elevator scene...you know that song by Aerosmith, right?

love in an elevator...living it up...when you're going down...LOL

yeah, but here, they are stuck with each other, in a confined space and she's afraid of confined spaces, so what else is a hawt seal to do, then to offer a distraction and comfort in one slide...*wink*

yeah, well, and there's more afterwards...

Dual-POVs, HAE. (Can be read as a standalone)

Another short installment of the Out of Uniform series, but also another great story. I loved Becker - the new commander of our fave SEALs team - and Jane, the woman who's determined to get her story from him. But when they get caught in an elevator, and she promptly has a panic attack with only him to comfort her, things heat up between the two quick.

"Are we going to keep ignoring it?" Jane asked.
He swallowed. "Ignore what?"
"The fact that we want to rip each other's clothes off."
"What about dinner?" he said roughly.
"I'm thinking we satisfy the other hunger first." She tilted her head to look at him, making him realize just how petite she was. "What do you think?"

The only problem? Both aren't interested in a relationship. Well... he would be if the other person showed interest in his own goals - children, marriage. But for Jane, she's on fire in her career, and those things aren't on her radar. But then again, she didn't plan on meeting someone like Becker either. Soon they have to decide if the risk is worth the payoff. Which, of course it is. They're so perfectly matched, I loved them together.

What was Becker like? Intense, she wanted to say. She thought about the way he moved inside her body and added passionate to the list. Thoughtful, because he made her breakfast. But as she opened her mouth to respond, the only word she wanted to say was mine.

As per usual, this was a yummy story. Lots of action, laughs and sweet scenes. It wasn't perfect, therefor it's not getting the atypical 5-star rating like a majority of the others I've read thus far. Becker is a little socially awkward, and she has to hold his hand through a few things. It was endearing, but got on my nerves a little bit.

Till next time cuties ;)!

I really really want to give this book more than 3 stars because Elle Kennedy's writing is simply divine. As always. But when the plot is already strong, the characters are not so much.

I'm so mad at Beck. I mean, seriously? He's a big, bad soldier yet he's afraid of taking chances. Sure he was scarred but I just dislike his cowardliness. And Jane's attitude is a wee bit confusing. She's the black sheep of the family, so is she.. Distant with her family? Or not? The lack of details made me not really connected with this book.

But overall I enjoyed this book and I look forward to read more from Elle Kennedy!

Good hot erotic novella. Kennedy does a good job with the short format, building up only as much story as there's room for and resolving it without it feeling hasty.

I loved how this book starts out with the hero and heroine getting trapped in an elevator. Unfortunately for the heroine Jane, she is highly claustrophobic and has a major panic attack. What's a hero to do but have wild sex with her to distract her. LOL
The hero Becker has recently divorced and is very quiet and reserved (it's the quiet ones who are the wildest) and Jane is outspoken, can carry on a conversation with a rock and is drop dead gorgeous with a pair of breasts that would be at home at the Playboy Mansion.
I really liked these two polar opposites and laughed at all their bickering. Oh, and the sex? Mercy.

Just did a re-read and still love those SEALs.

Elle Kennedy has written another quick, short and hot little read. These stories are about a group of Navy seals and the women they fall in love with. The story lines are simple, but I find them enjoyable enough to fill in a couple of hours.

Holy hell, these just keep getting hotter!

Lt. Thomas Becker is the new leader of the SEAL team. Fresh off a divorce from his model wife, Alice, he's not looking for love or a relationship. A rescue mission to save an American photographer, Elizabeth Harrison, from a hostile environment leaves him with a bullet in his arm and some time off for physical therapy. When Elizabeth's sister, Jane, shows up one day requesting an interview, he turns her down. Not one to give up, Jane chases him down and tries to get him to change his mind. All thoughts of getting a scoop fly out the window the moment they get stuck together in an elevator. Jane, who hates small spaces, has a small panic attack. The only way to get her to calm down is to distract her. Jane and Thomas share ten minutes of heavy distracting *cough* before they're set free. Coming off the intense high, Jane knows she wants to have that again and again, but only with Thomas. When asks him to dinner, but he turns her down saying he's not in the right frame of mind for dating, much less a relationship. Jane is disappointed, but understands and so they go their separate ways, albeit reluctantly.

A chance meeting brings them together again. Only this time Thomas can't resist her. She's only in the area for another eight days. What's eight days of a little harmless sex with no strings attached? When the eight days are over, they can both walk away.

Fine, this story is now my new favorite of the series. The Lieutenant is one hot piece of property! For such a quiet and reserved man, he was scorching hot under the covers and was a damn good dirty talker. That man gave me goosebumps. And I adored Jane! She was incredibly blunt and honest to a fault. For once it was great to see the female take the lead. He didn't stand a chance when she set out to seduce him senseless, and she did it very well. Thomas has a few obstacles to overcome before he finally realizes that Jane is perfect for him, and not what his idea of perfect is.

The rest of the gang is also around to throw in their two cents, and Carson is as always hilarious!

"You can't call your superior officer an idiot," Carson said. He smirked. "But I can." He cast an irritated look in Becker's direction. "You're an idiot."

Love, love, loved it!

Very Hot, fast read. Becker the Navy SEAL, yeah he was easy to like, tall, dark and stoic. I can picture him now..... Anyway, when he meets Jane he is wary of her bombshell looks and initially dismisses her. But after they are trapped in an elevator he comforts her as she panics. She asked him to distract her and their close proximity and chemistry play havoc with their control. Next thing you know their putting on one hot show for the elevator repairman via hidden camera. Afterward she wants to go and get to know him but he shoots her down. They run into each other again and it's instant attraction all over again. Becker wants more than a fling but that's all she's promising, well he doesn't admit he does. He doesn't want any kind of a relationship because he thinks she's too much like his ex wife and he wants a family this time around. Their biggest obstacle was admitting what they wanted and deciding to go after it. Pretty steamy scenes, wasn't sure where they were going when Ryan came into the picture. All these kinky SEALS, what's a girl to do?

I think I'd actually give this sucker 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed almost everything about it. For it being such a short piece, it didn't feel that way in regards to Becker and Jane's relationship. Even their first sexual encounter didn't seem off, like it does sometimes when characters just meet and hop into the sack. I felt their attraction, their sexual tension. Plus, I think it helped that they weren't all of the sudden OMG, SEW IN LURVE!!!! immediately. They were realistic in what they were doing, and I think that helped tremendously with the storyline.

The characters were great - Jane was funny and blunt. Beck was hot and stoic. I even loved all the guys in the background (and will be reading the other books in this series). And the sex was supah hot.

My only real complaint was that it ended so abruptly. Stupid "sneak peeks" at the back - I thought I still had like 10 pages to read. *pout*

I do like this series.

I didn't connect with Jane very much.. she was a bit... brash. Which is hilarious since I'm totally like that.

I liked Thomas aka Becker a lot. I totally understood his reasons for not wanting to get into a relationship, but I do think his 50's vision of a wife was a bit far fetched. Now having said that, I know a lot of women who would be happy with that, so it wasn't unobtainable.

I loved seeing the other boys. It would have been nice to see John and Shelby again, but I like that we got Holly and Carson.

The I love you's seemed a bit fast since it was only an 8 day fling, but ehh...

This one is scorching hot! Jane wants to interview Thomas Becker. He was the least of the SEAL team that rescued her sister. He however doesn't want to be interviewed. They get stuck in an elevator and Jane has a panic attack. One great way to distract her....yup, what else but elevator sex? They decide to have a fling for a week only can it just be a week or is there more to them than just explosive sex?
