About the author

Robert Benson has written more than a dozen books about discovering the Holy in the midst of our everyday lives. He is a lifelong churchman, a graduate of the Academy for Spiritual Formation, a member of the Friends of Silence and of the Poor, and has been named a Living Spiritual Teacher by Spirituality and Practice. Benson lives and writes, pays attention and offers prayers at his home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Venite, as its title indicates, is a beautiful invitation to experience the rhythm of daily prayer in your life. Benson is a humble guide and a lovely writer. I highly recommend this as a resource for those wanting to discover or rediscover embracing the hours of each ay as an opportunity to claim the present moment.

I first encountered Venite when I heard Robert Benson speak at the Praise Gathering convention in Indianapolis the year the book was released. I bought a copy that weekend, and I have purchased at least two subsequent copies. This is not a book to just read; this is a prayer book to practice, and it has greatly enriched my life for more than 20 years.
