This is a book explaining ho money is made. It walks through every step explaining it in simple terms. The language is understandable for many ages because of the short statements and the fact they are able to use context clues. The pictures are very clear and engaging. They are picture from factories which a lot of children most likely won’t see.
I gave this book 4 stars because there are many ways I could use this in the classroom. I like how it works its way through the production of coins from the beginning to end, this can be a timeline activity. I also really like the pictures on each page, giving students the chance to see where there money comes from. I didn’t give it 5 stares because it is a little old.
This story is a quick deep dive into how coins are made. It starts with how it starts as metal into the ground, and follows the entire process to get into our pockets as money users. It also talks about how the money presses are made. Repetition was crucial in this story. Each step was repeated before the next one, as well as the back of the book had a two page spread of a timeline, which highlighted each step once more. I rated this book with a five star because it was a quick but thorough introduction for children into how coins are made. This would be perfect for a young classroom to help understand how many, specifically coins, are made. It had fun pictures to help visualize each step as well.
