Sixteen distinguished military historians discuss the events of 1918, including: the German perception that they did not lose but were “stabbed in the back”; contributions to the land victory from France Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA; and those from the navies and air forces of the Allied nations. Final chapters review the peace settlement of 1919, the voice of the Australian veteran, and the changing views on the military history of World War One.
