It was an alright book. I didn't like the text placement in some parts of the book and was disappointed in the ending, I felt like it should have been longer. The illustrations were cute, especially the babies!

Dinosaur Story Time.

Little Rex wants to be big and scary until he meets his new siblings. Very cute!! This might be my favorite dinosaur story ever.

Rex wants to be a big scary dinosaur, but none of his family or friends think he is. But one day when his parents leave him behind with the eggs, Rex changes his mind. Cute book with nice pictures.

Text-to-World
I really like this book because it makes me think of other children that are older sibling. I also wanted to do a text –to –self connection because I can relate, although I am not a big brother but a big sister. I know that I have to look after the ones that are under me. But I chose text to world because when I think of other child that has smaller siblings it makes me wonder how they would respond being the older sibling. In the classroom, I would ask open ended questions to prompt the children to share their experiences of being a big brother or big sister. I would also prompt the children to do a think, pair and share with their partner.

The story of Little Rex has many dimensions. From the first page Rex engages reader's auditory senses and we quickly discover Little Rex doesn't want to be little, but big and scary. A wonderful read, especially for those children who might be struggling to do everything an older sibling does or perhaps uncertain as to what a new addition to the family might mean.
The texture of the illustrations by Sean Julian make them worthy for decorating a children's wall, not just pages in a book.
Unweighted by dinosaur terminology, this is a wonderful foray into dinosaurs for a young child.

This was a easy read. It wasn't quite what I expected. Based on the title I thought it would be about the relationship between a dinosaur and his younger siblings but it isn't. It's more of a story about how a dinosaur (child) thinks he is big and is annoyed when others call him little. Then when he meets his baby brothers and sisters, he is willing to refer to himself as little so they aren't scared of him. My son still really liked this book though because he loves dinosaurs. He could care less what the story is about.

Rex, a little dinosaur, tries convincing everyone that he is big and scary...until he actually scares some creatures close to his heart. While the "I'm big theme" has been done before this title still holds value due to appealing illustrations of the most adorable dinosaurs ever! Will be good selection for storytime audience.

This book is about a little dinosaur who wanted to be BIG. But when his little siblings are born he wants to be the best big brother ever! I think this is a great book for young children who are about to get a new sibling. I would give this to parents who are having more children so that my students can be the best big brother or sister they can be!

This book was fine and it will find a happy life in the dinosaur cubby. Not a great book for parents looking to educate their children about being a big brother or sister, but a fun read for kids that enjoy dinosaur books.

Little Rex wants everyone to think he is big and bad. That is until his younger siblings are born. The book tells a story that it is okay to be who you are. The illustrations are very vibrant and will capture anyone attention!

This book was so good and it was neat that my son got caught up in it. He started to say oh no! when the little brothers became scared. We are reading "brother" books now to get him used to the idea of being a big brother - great choice!

Dinosaurs are always a winner, and these friendly looking dino's are a bonus. I just wish it had a little more action and a little less advice.

I wanted to like this one. The illustrations are darling, with a lot of color and detail. Still, the story fell flat and some of the situations were just awkward.

This book was great. I liked when the bany dinosaurs hatched. I learned that baby dinosaurs come from eggs. I didn't like when everyone called Rex small
