Little Critter
Where's My Sneaker?
Who would possibly want to play his first baseball game ever without wearing his lucky sneakers? Not Little Critter! But one of his special sneakers is missing. Where could it be--in the toy chest, under the bed, somewhere in the closet? Surely not in sister’s bubble bath! Soon all the animals in the house are helping Little Critter in his search, and kids can, too!

There is so much "win" about this book.
I bought this book from the Kohl's Cares campaign, so I got a fabulous hardbound book by Mercer Mayer for $5, and I was buying for a good cause, and my five-year-old son not only loses things, like his shoes, but also loves Mercer Mayer.
At the time I bought this book, I didn't realize it was a lift-the-flap book -- that means more Mercer Mayer art and more "win".
The story itself, of course, is adorable and completely relatable to preschoolers and early elementary school students. The illustrations, of course, are even more adorable and relatable and I love, love, love the frog.

I would give this book one and a half stars.
I had a lot of fun reading this book to my baby sister when she was smaller. I think that we both equally enjoyed the fun story, which holds some nice appeal for everyone, and the lift-the-flap feature engages an extra sense in the reading.

This is one of my favorites! I ripped off the trash can flap today when mom wasn't looking.
