In response to Donald's bedtime request for "just one more story," his grandmother reaches for his big toe and elaborates on "This Little Piggy Went to Market"
I love how this book enlarges the story of the nursery rhyme. I feel sorry when one piggy - is a little piggy - and eats the roast beef that he knows he's not supposed to eat so the other pigs have none. But I guess we can use that as a talking point on how wrong it is to break the rules and how wrong it is to take things that don't belong to you, and how wrong it is to to be fair to others.
The rhyming keeps in context of the original, and it's a fun read. It great to have a grandparent storyteller for a change. It seems a little young for the recommended age group.
This is a humorous spin to the common nursery rhyme. There is no rhyming like I had initially thought, but it could be used for sequencing in the classroom. The illustrations are a little outdated, too.
