A cool one, the mini motion pieces in the book are a really nice touch, the book really does come alive.

This is a book that talks about the importance of bees without overcomplicating the explanations. It goes straight to the point, making it a good option to be read for very young kids. Specially those who are afraid of bees. Kids can easily connect to how the boy in the book is feeling when he sees a bee entering his house. The bee ends up having her feelings hurt because the boy is afraid of her. She explains to him that bees just want to help. Yet everybody runs away from them in fear. The boy listens to the bee as sh explains what her role is in helping plants grow fruits and vegetables. In the end, the boy become her friend and promises to be nicer an protective of bees in the future.
I would read this book in the classroom after an explanation about what pollination is. This book would be used to address the fear some kids have of bees and to introduce the importance of bees in contributing to the growth of fruits and vegetables.

Amazing illustration with the pictures looking like they are coming off the pages. This book is good for language and literacy. This book can also be used for introduction into science. This book has lots of rhyming words and information on how bees contribute to our world. Great book for young growing children starting phonological awareness.

This book is about a bee who wants to be let inside this little boys house, but the boy is scared because he has only heard bad things about bees. The bee explained to him that bees are not bad, and without them we wouldn’t have plants, or fruits. The colorful illustrations make the book very fascinating and attractive for young ones.
I give this book 5 stars. “If it weren’t for us bees, why the plants would be gone. No more peaches. No cherries. No trees to climb on” (pg. 5). This book deserves 5 stars because it is not only concise and to the point, but also helps children understand that bees aren’t all bad and that they have many important functions that we need to help us live. The story makes me have understanding for the bees and creates an emotional connection with them, to help me feel bad for the bees, instead of writing them off as bad. This book can be very beneficial to children because they can come to a basic understanding that just because bees sting, they are not bad and they have many important duties that are an essential part of nature.

Cool pictures and the hologram thingies really catch my son's attention. Nice story about the importance of bees.... but it sort of falls short - and definitely ends abruptly. Doesn't really "pull you in." Just relies on its message and pictures - not the story. There is a section after the story with more "bee facts" which is nice, but to me it seemed a bit incongruent with the age group the story was directed at. Could just be me of course. And with the cost for a new copy being over $15... can't really say it's worth it unless your child is really into bees.

I think this is a good book for preschoolers to understand what Bees do and how they move and how they get food. The pictures are clear and almost life like. Some of them are even designed to seem as if moving when the page moves....a bit of 3D movements has been incorporated. It even includes facts about bees that can be shared after the story has been read.

A nice story about a young boy and his dog's encounter with a bee. Of course the young boy was scared to get stung but communication between him and the bee creates a better understanding. Moving visuals within the pages are provided which was a nice added touch to the reading experience. The children enjoyed the story and especially the visuals during preschool storytime.

I love this book! It is a valuable message told in a cute way. Easy to understand for little ones but also gives more information for the slightly older child.
The art is pleasant without being over whelming or simplistic. I love the motion panels! However, they were a little difficult to use & see.

Bee & Me is an engineered book that is great to introduce kids to environmental issues and how the bee is important to life. An extension activity could be to have students do some research on the bee's life cycle and then illustrate it with a creative foldable.

The story is ok... But the images with this book are perhaps hard to see even for adults so this means it isn't great for the really little babies. Likewise, I am not super fond of the story. Still it is nice to have variety in the form of board books and it seems better for older infants.
