I really, really loved this book. "Energy Addict" 101 Physical, Mental, & Spiritual Ways to Energize Your Life" by Jon Gordon promises to "refuel, recharge, and refocus" your life, and indeed it does just that. It is a small book, but with 101 concrete definite tools for "energy building"---you can choose to make small, very do-able changes in your life, take baby steps, and end up with a lot more energy than you could even imagine. I had previously read Jon Gordon's Coffee Bean and Energy Bus, and I love his advice and writing style, so I thought I would pick this one up and it did not disappoint! If you are seeking a practical and effective book on increasing your energy, this is the book for you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Definitely some good practical points here and there based on recent science; the benefits of meditation, eating right, exercise, not being a dick... stuff we all know but need to reminded of occasionally. Though the god talk, albeit not loaded with it, was a great way of saying the author would believe mostly anything; which naturally makes me question then rest of what he wrote. Overall reading the bullet points at the end of each topic would have been plenty.
I loved and admired the positive outlook Gordon gives off. Though many of the tips he provides are known to almost all of us, he offers a different perspective and is so encouraging, and helps us believe in ourselves. After all, only we can make the differences in ourselves.
This book advocates increasing energy by Forming good habits such as meditation, healthy eating habits, and exercise. Much of the information is well-known, but I liked the reminder. Also, it helps give motivation to do those good habits knowing they will help increase my energy.
Easy to read, short chapters. A few new ideas I hadn't come across. He does quote studies and experts, but most of his suggestions are a little shallow without a lot of development. Still good ideas though for anyone who needs more energy.
Very informative...I always want to know how I can have more energy. The book was organized and got right to the point. I appreciated the summary part and tips to follow and the end of each chapter.
Some obvious exercises but still good advice... and a good reminder to just do it - just put these things into practice more often or more consistently. A good fast read.
I read this a few years ago and enjoyed it, but this time around, the ideas seem pretty unoriginal. Get enough sleep and eat breakfast... nothing really inspiring here.
