L.A. Cinderella

Rate this book
Career-driven accountant Natalie Collins wasn't the type to wish for a Hollywood hero to rescue her. She preferred life away from celebrity glitz. Too bad the man who drove her wild was an A-list actor.

With her understated beauty and brains, Natalie was the one person Chase Booker could trust. He could see the strong, sexy woman beneath her shy exterior, and she stirred a blinding passion in him that made it easy to forget that they were from different worlds. But when she was in his arms, their worlds were dangerously close to colliding….

Well, it’s been so looooong since I’ve stopped reading any English materials, except those related to my work [you’re sooooo malas rina! ;P]. Pheww… so I’m kinda thought to start all over again, at least 2-3 books this year [?]. So here we go… my first book, hmm e-book to be exact ;D

Natalie; a fresh graduate that falling in love with a Hollywood A-list actor namely Chase Booker. She knew that she was nothing to compare with Chase. However, who knows fate brought her close to the man she adored.

Chase Booker. A good looking man with decent popularity. I must admit that he was a super-duper hot. I admired his spirit in fought for Natalie all the way through the novel. Thank God that Chase doesn’t like me who already felt a bit bored waiting for Natalie to realise that she will lost her ultimate love if she still cannot face with the reality.

A short cliche story with happy ending. But I think it delivers exactly what the title and blurb promises. For me, is still an enjoyable read as the pace is quite fast. I love it when I don’t have to stay up with the tablet for the whole day.

Ps: Lama agaknya tak baca novel sebegini, jadi aku mungkin kena betulkan tune sedikit kih5

Bonita historia. Tanto Natalie como Chase son personajes poco rebuscados, sino mas bien simples, con poca profundidad. Pero cumple.

Nice story. Both Natalie and Chase are simple characters, with little depth. But the novel complies.

Shy accountant Natalie is fresh out of college, but she just landed a job working at Pandora Productions. That means she gets to see steamy-hot movie star Chase Booker on a daily basis - as well as all the model-looking employees that make plain, demure Natalie feel like a major ugly duckling. However, she manages to snag Chase's attention after an accidental collision.

This book is a typical case of "shy girl meets gorgeous famous guy" and delivers exactly what the title and blurb promise. Fans of romance novels will certainly enjoy this one.

Chase Booker was written to be every woman's dream man. His looks and words had me swooning, so I had a hard time believing Natalie was so reluctant to have a public relationship with him. Chase fought for her all the way through the novel. Although he had some shortcomings of his own, mostly not being able to accept that Natalie didn't want to share the spotlight with him, he eventually overcomes them.

Natalie was a nice enough character, but she frustrated the hell out of me (and other readers, from what I've seen in some reviews) with all the excuses she made up in order to distance herself from Chase and his lifestyle. She only took the first step once, and even then she backed out of it pretty quickly. In a way, it felt like the story was happening TO Natalie instead of with or because of her.

I enjoyed the subplot about the fraudlent CFO, even if I did think it got resolved way too quickly and neatly. Actually, that is something that can be said for the whole novel. The pace is super fast and I had a hard time everything would come to such a happy ending so quickly. But it IS a Harlequin/Silhouette novel, so pace is not something I usually hold against these books.

Natalie's best friend, Rachel, was definitely one of my favorite characters and I found myself wishing she had more of a role than what was in the book. Overall a nice and enjoyable read.

One of my best friends wrote this book, so I had to read it even though I never read romance novels like this.

Particularly for the first part (probably more based on being on a plane at that point, and being at home with kids at the end), I really got sucked in, so I feel like she did a great job on that.

I was frustrated at the end with the unreality of it all, feeling like things wouldn't have moved that fast, and they probably wouldn't be willing to accept things like they did. But suspending reality, it was really fun.

I liked the premise a lot and thought the author did a good job with it. But I kept waiting for the heroine's character to grow and gain some backbone, maybe even fight for the man she loves. Instead, it was the hero who always bent over backwards for her from the beginning to the very end.

This was a good story

Chase was a dream, of course, but I got a little tired of Natalie's running away. She was a bit spineless and it got old. She finally got it together for the HEA.

An endearingly romantic story set in Hollywood, California. Sweet, funny, & sexy. A heroine you want to get behind from the first page!

3.5 stars -- Yup, fulfilled my additional craving of that movie star romance. Chase was pretty sweet, Natalie was adorable. Situations were fairly realistic. Chemistry was fantastic.
