One Night In Bangkok is book 1 in the Passport to Passion Collection. I have read and absolutely loved the 2nd book in the series, Singapore Fling which was my first Rhian Cahill that signaled the start of my adoration when it comes to what she can deliver in terms of very well done and very, very hot erotica. Likewise, One Night in Bangkok is no exception to the rule and packed into this very short novella lies passion with a depth of intensity that is hard to compete with.

Since this story is quite short, I have decided to kick-start my Interview Review aka I-Review with this novel. I-Review follows a question and answer format for the review which hopefully will do justice to this delectable addition to my collection of favorite contemporary erotica of all time!

Question 1: What made you pick up One Night in Bangkok?

I received this book from the fabulous Rhian Cahill for reviewing purposes. Even prior to that, I had been eyeing this one since its successor did such a huge number on me. This has been in my review pile for quite a long time and in fact right now I am kicking myself for keeping such a hot little edition without any action whatsoever for so long! Ah, but better late than never eh?

Question 2: Tell us a little bit about the hero!

Well, to tell you the truth apart from his name being Tom Windham and that he just about seriously depleted the oxygen levels in my room (from hyperventilating throughout the story), there is not much I can tell you. All you need to know is, he is ultra hot, breathtakingly handsome and can about make the heroine scream in pleasure just by looking at her the right way.

Question 3: Now, tell us a little bit about the heroine.

Beth Martin has just survived the end of a bad relationship, namely her engagement to Alexander Hollister whom she had finally exposed to the world for the lying and cheating character he is. Beth had lost so much of herself during her relationship to Alexander that its her attempt to start over and in the process find herself once again that she flies to Bangkok to begin her new job in Phuket the next day.

Question 4: How does the hero and heroine meet for the first time?

Sweltering from the heat of Bangkok, Beth makes her way into the bar of her hotel to be offered a drink by the man who has the power to bring her to her knees with just one look, an intense mutual reaction that seems to be shared by both Beth and Tom.

Question 5: What was it that drew you into this story?

Rhian Cahill has a way of spinning an erotic tale unlike any other. And that is what drew me into One Night in Bangkok as well. I love the way the sizzling sexual tension that escalates to unbearable levels just explodes in Rhian's novels and this one did that to me in a similar fashion, rendering me speechless a time or two whilst Tom and Beth were heating things up!

Question 6: What was it that you liked about this novella?

The intense passion between Beth and Tom of course! I just reveled in all that out-of-control, I-would-die-if-I-can't-have-you-right-now scenes that makes up this book.

Question 7: If given the chance, would you change anything at all in this novella?

I would have loved to know just a little bit more about Tom. I know he is hot and if he were to turn up on my doorstep I would definitely haul him in and never let him go. But, I would definitely have loved to know more about his personality and what sort of a guy he is all around.

Question 8: Who would you recommend this to?

Fans of Rhian Cahill. If you, like me have been keeping this around, gathering computer bugs and what not in your TBR folder somewhere, take an hour or so and READ it!
And for those who love erotic contemporary romance, this novella is for you!

Question 9: Any memorable scenes/quotes in the story?

I loved the moment that Tom's control snapped, rendering him as much a slave to the intense, heady and explosive attraction between him and Beth. Just flat-out loved it!

Rating=4.5/5

Memorable Scene:
- Dinner scene > foreplay from start to finish, HOT!

Quick & Dirty-review:

Hero:
His name is Tom and that’s all I can tell you without spoiling the story.

Heroine:
Beth Martin. A capable and professional woman who has a passionate side to her that’s waiting to be sparked by the right man. She’s decided she won't be dictated by others any longer and wants to take life head-on and on her terms. That’s exactly what she does on her last night in Bangkok.

Plot:
A one night stand in Bangkok leads to a HEA with a nice twist at the end

Writing:
Rhian Cahill's writing is simply mesmerizing. The way she describes sexual chemistry and arousal is amazing. It's so vivid and sensual I can actually feel the zing and sparks coming of the pages. She's one of the very few authors whose descriptions I love to read as they are anything but page fillers and they almost form a character of their own in the books I've read by her.

Likes:
- writing, sex scenes and premise

Dislikes:
- minor one: missed Tom's POV though at the end I understood why the story was told almost exclusively from Beth's POV.

Verdict:
Rhian Cahill did it again. She seduced me with another incredibly hot and well-written novella that just sizzled of the pages. I can't wait to read her next erotic contemporary book! Bear in mind that I am being this enthusiastic about a 28-page story…Me! The reader who always complains about novellas being too short but in this case it was so deliciously written I can’t even fathom complaining about length.

Favorite Quotes:
Lost in the thrill of what he was doing to her hand—and in a domino effect,
her entire body—Beth feared she would agree to anything he suggested as
long as he didn’t stop.
“Have dinner with me.” He spoke against her skin and his breath puffed over the moisture left by his tongue. It cooled and heated at the same time as sparks of fire shot through her hand and up her arm leaving a trail of tingling starbursts in their wake.

“Dinner?” She moved out of the way to let the server pass and Tom closed the distance between them, crowding her against the wall.
“Yes, dinner,” he whispered into her ear.
“But I thought—”
“What? That I would strip you naked and take you against this wall the minute you walked in?” His warm, moist breath sent shockwaves of lust down her neck. He bit her earlobe lightly. “Make no mistake, Beth, I will have you. But I’m a civilized man. I invited you to dinner and I will feed you dinner.”

A whimper of anguish slipped past her lips before she could stop it. Want and desire laced every note, conveying her arousal, her need, her desperation to have him touch her.

This short story has a very thin plot to string together numerous sex scenes. The characters barely speak to one another, have non-stop sex, and then decide they are in love because they’ve never felt this way before. I have no problem with erotica or one night stands that turn into more but these characters don’t do anything but have sex. There is no conversation where they get to know each other; there is very little dialogue to the entire story. I would’ve liked to see more development on the details the hero reveals at the end. The writing was fine but I like more substance with my sex.

This was a tantalizing short read full of steam, and it was an absolute pleasure to read. One night of passion is a fantasy that most women can relate to, and this story delivered in the best of ways. I will admit that the dialog was a bit sparce for me, but the intensity and connection between the characters was great.

This is a very quick read but it is hot! The entire story is told from Beth's POV. Usually I'm very hero-centric with the stories I read but there's a reason why the author can't divulge Tom's thoughts. Everything becomes clear in the end. I liked this hot little story a lot!
