My least favorite book by this author, I liked the hero he was great, a former football player and now coach of the heroine's 15 year old son, who also happens to be the son of his stepbrother.
The problem for me in the book was the heroine, I didn't like what a control freak she was and didn't see how sweet the hero was even when they knew each other in high school, yes he had had a bad boy persona but she never saw that he cared for her and was genuine when he tried to warn her from dating his step-bro, hell he even offered to marry her when she turned up pregnant and her boyfriend (step-bro) dumped her and parents kicked her out.
Even when they meet after so many years she acts like a brat, judging not the man he is today but who he was. He even takes them in their house when a fire breaks out at their own place and even when they get intimate he doesn't push her and she acts like an immature person running away and even he son calls her on it.
He tells her he loves and wants to try but she says you are not the type, excuse me, so what if he hasn't had some long lasting relationship his actions clearly show he cares for you. Yeah she had been let down when she needed people that didn't mean she had to be a self-sufficiency queen.
She annoyed me and took away my enjoyment of the book.

I really enjoy Abigail Strom's writing style she just sucks me right in to the story and her characters life's. I will defo read what she publishes next.

This was a quick read for me. when I'm taking a break through all the heavy reading I do, I pick up a harlequin and read it in one sitting. I loved Alex and Holly's story! Holly a single mom moves back to her hometown with her 15 year old son and never imagined meeting up with bad boy Alex again (which is her ex husband's step brother) but she does. Alex is ex NFL and coaching the football team that Holly son is on. with Holly being "boring, uptight Holly" and Alex still having that "bad boy" in him of course it takes them a little time but they finally get things right and with a little help with Holly's son find HEA. If you want a good quick HEA story, then you will enjoy this great read!

I came to this story by way of reading Clare (Hart University, #2), as I was intrigued at the notion of learning how Will's mother and step-father got together. It proved to be a good love story indeed. I really enjoyed how Will and everyone else knew that Holly and Alex were meant to be together, well before they did.

It's not often you find a romance that's funny as well as sexy, but this one nails them both. Abigail Strom never lets me down this is the third book I have read by her and I really enjoyed it!
