Lots of people have really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the general story -- what's not to like about a hot movie star falling for a non-Hollywood type? What I did have a problem with, however, was how often "love" was thrown about. From the very beginning, Logan had a reaction to Cass. Within pages, he's saying he's in love with her and going to follow her, commitments (that his manager sets up) be damned. And then he gets there and starts to woo her, and says he's absolutely in love with her. Then he's wondering if he's in love with her. Then he's thinking that oh, yeah, he's 100% in love with her. But is he really in love with her? Oh... there it is again... he's questioning it and then confident he's in love with her. Plus, he'd be all super sweet, then turn around and say something so completely oafish, it's a wonder he got near Cass at all when his foot was constantly inserted firmly in his mouth. Lastly, the "suspense" was just OK. I didn't really get why her ex was so intent on having her when he was such an ass to her, but I suppose that could happen. He seemed slightly on the insane side by the end. And his sister? WTF was up with her? Total freak. Has she never heard the word "no" before? Cuz she heard it a LOT, but she couldn't seem to realize it was directed at her. Anyhoo... I have the second one so I'll read it. I hope the same things that bugged me about this one don't bug me about the next one.

Wendi Zwaduk has given us the absolutely classic romance novel in Right Where I Need To Be.

The charming, handsome hero, Logan Malone (okay, forget handsome, he’s actually red-hot…) is also a successful star, although he has a rather endearing touch of self-doubt. The heroine, Cass, is also full of splendid emotional strife, and the perfect pair engage in an early self-struggle to develop trust in one another. Both are attracted from the first, yet neither would have believed it of the other.

Neither of the main characters is exactly as the other perceives, as is often the case in this type of romance. The challenge of course is the predictability; Ms. Zwaduk just manages to avoid this trap by focusing readers so completely on the inner turmoil of both Logan and then Cass. We’re caught rooting for them, even though we do see and believe so well in the doubts each of them suffers. There are good reasons for the worries, as shown in moments of memory, and in some interaction with others. Cass has a tough personality; she’s determined, even when events make her sad…while Logan seems the closer to defeat, and we will so long for her to reach out to him.

Past events and character history crop up from time to time, but bring so much emotional angst that they slide into the picture without even momentarily slowing the action; in fact, the past often heightens the tension.

Though the emotions can get intense, there is also subtle humor throughout. Cass‘s comments, especially, often include a quip or wry statement. It’s always just the right seasoning to lighten the feeling and brighten the dialogue from time to time. The Hollywood-esque world of casting, photo shoots, scripts and bling-lifestyles (not to mention love scenes) evokes a wonderful aura. We struggle to sense whether Logan and Cass can find a true connection among many light or meaningless relationships, and whether or not they can even manage to truly communicate with so many distractions around them.

Things only become more complicated as we go forward, as it takes quite a cast of characters to complete all the action in Right Where I Need to Be. Secondary characters, from Nikita at the casting to Dex the ex, are well-developed and interesting. Even relatively minor roles, such as support characters like Darrell, show a measure of human believability.

Fans of the hot and zippy romance won’t be disappointed in this super new novel. Ms. Zwaduk gets to things like ‘innermost desires' with the speed of light: never mind waiting to be hooked by the first chapter, readers will be thoroughly engaged by the end of the first couple pages.

I love this book! I admit I was a bit afraid because the excerpts for other books by Wendy Zwaduk were often too hot for me, while well written, so I knew I needed something softer. This is the book the author herself recommended to me and she was right it’s perfect for me!

This is a wonderful romance story, it’s erotic and hot yes but it’s really well written and it’s in a story with a good plot. I like suspense romance and there is a touch of the genre that made me completely immersed in the story. The characters are moving. Cass is a great, famous author but she is lacking confidence because of her past abuses, she is secret and really afraid but in the same time she is trying to move on even if it’s really hard. When she sees Logan, she reacts as a woman for the first time in a decade. However her past and insecurities are restraining her to act on her feelings. For Logan is a bit the opposite, he has a reputation, not false, of a Romeo who plays with beautiful woman before ditching them. He admits himself that it’s not sane and it’s a turning point in his life when he starts to want something more. He is able to see where he went wrong, what he should have done differently, he is not changing overnight of course but he is on the right path…all because of a picture. Going to that audition is a necessity for his bank account, only because of his lifestyle, but it’s foremost a choice. He wanted the role because the author’s picture made him fantasize …when he discovers that the picture is real, not a model but really the author he is left speechless. Cass is the total opposite of what he has been looking in his ex, she is not a model but a beautiful normal woman and he is completely under her charm. Fortunately for him, his clumsiness is what makes him stand out for the role…but he wants more than the role even more after learning of Cass’ past.

Their relationship is slowly building like I love and it’s even more important here with their personality. Under her strong front, Cass is really afraid of a rejection and she doesn’t imagine possible for someone, someone famous even less, to love her because of her looks. Dex, her abusing ex husband, really destroyed her self esteem and still tries to sap her control on her life. The fact that Logan is a well know womanizer and that the majority of her friends, wanting to protect her, thinks it’s a bad idea make her doubt even more. However, Logan is not one to give up without a fight once he is sure of what (or here who) he wants. His life hasn’t been perfect but he is determined to make the woman he loves feel loved and protected, at all costs.

It’s really a fabulous story and Wendi captivated me, I’ve read this in one read while on a tight schedule it shows you how motivated I was^^. I would recommend it to lovers of soft (no bdsm, ménage etc) erotic romance. The only light, very light downside I have is in the ending… while it’s not bad at all I just felt that the last encounter ( I won’t tell you more) wasn’t needed it was already a real HEA without it but it’s perhaps because I ‘m more likely to hold a grudge

I made it to 21%. I just couldn't take the instead "love", then Logan would change his mind - no it's not. But wait, he is in love with her, etc... It was just too much
