I Am Who I Am

Rate this book
Young children will love this romping, rollicking, joyful book celebrating our diversity and our individuality.

We’re all short and tall,

fat and thin, big and small.

And we’re all the two feet, ten toes,

two eyes, two ears, one mouth, one nose.

We smile, we frown, we laugh, we cry,

we sing, we dance—so who am I?

Juste correct! Peut-être que ce n'est pas un sujet que je trouve encore pertinent d'aborder avec un petit garçon dont on est encore en train de découvrir la personnalité... Il est loin de penser à la cacher ou la changer pour les autres!

Cute.

The publisher donated copies of this book for my Stags Read program. They will be distributed directly to students and/ or placed in Little Free Libraries in our area.

2 to 3 years old. This board book discusses the concept of identity through two major categories: differences that are not elective, such as height and weight and shyness, and differences that are chosen, such as favorite color, activity choice, and what to draw. This board book does something new by approaching a fairly heavy topic through childhood behavior. Illustrations of various children engaged in different sorts of activities accompany the text. While most board books are for children under one years old, this board book is clearly intended for discussion about how choices children make can affect who they are. Bravely entering into new territory for board books, this Swedish author may be taking a larger than child size bite into this serious topic. However, it may benefit children who express a lot of choices.
