I love these puzzle adventure books put out by Usbourne. Each book is a story involving some mystery that needs to be solved. Each page give you a picture or series of pictures, comic book style, in which are a lot of visual clues to solve a puzzle. There are often a lot of messages to decode, mazes and hidden picture clues.

The last of the advanced puzzle books.

Tim discovers a comic about Hypnoman in his uncle's attic but when he chants a secret code something happens.

This is just the right level of fantasy for me. Again, some of the puzzles are fiendish but others were doable and the plot is excellent.

I might have to buy some of the easier series that I don't already own. Maybe after the wedding is paid for...
