Erin Rose Wage is the author of This Book Is Upside Down, Fox Gives Thanks, Sleep Tight, Moonlight!, and many other books featuring Star Wars, Disney, Eric Carle, and Sesame Street characters. She believes that children’s books matter a great deal because a lifelong love of reading begins before you can read. She has Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in English from DePaul University, and she spent half a year studying archaeology in Athens, Greece. During her studies, she spent many hours in the library and writing center tutoring students. She now lives in Chicago with her spouse and rambunctious cat. When she’s not writing children’s books, she loves gardening, cooking, making collages, embroidering, and—perhaps most of all—she loves reading.
Fox is busy gathering food for the winter. The rhyming text provides a lilting tone as he moves through the forest. Readers see what is happening to the food he gathers and will enjoy watching what happens as they turn the pages. I love the ending when the animals all gather and are grateful for the food and friendship.
