346 books113 followersJessica Steele was born on May 9, 1933 in the elegant Warwickshire town of Royal Leamington Spa. She has two super brothers, Colin and George, and a lovely sister, Elizabeth. She was a delicate child and missed a lot of school. In fact, she left school at aged 14, when she was diagnosed as having tuberculosis. At 16, she started work as a junior clerk. In 1967, Jessica married with her husband, Peter and within a very short space of time they had moved from her hometown to the lovely area where they now live. Their house is built into the side of a hill, and has beautiful views over more hills and valleys. Her brothers and her sister are very close and she has plenty of nephews and nieces to make up for the fact that she and her husband have no children of their own. Both she and her husband are more than a little dog-oriented, and their current dog is a Staffordshire bull terrier named Florence. Florence is gorgeous. She loves everybody but, since she is 40 pounds of dynamite and would hurl her boisterous self at everyone she meets - given half a chance - she has to be restrained (as much as possible). She is fun.
Her husband spurred Jessica on to her writing career, giving her every support while she did what she considers her five-year apprenticeship (the rejection years) while learning how to write. She published her first books in 1979. Jessica has tried using a typewriter, but it just doesn't work for her. She is much happier writing in longhand, and in actual fact has a dozen or so fountain pens filled and ready to go at the start of any one session. A friend has a secretarial agency and, after deciphering Jessica's writing, returns an immaculately typed manuscript. To gain authentic background for her books, she has travelled and researched in Greece, Russia, Egypt, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Hong Kong, China and Japan.

Did Not Finish
February 27, 2017He flaunts his parade of girlfriends for her benefit and keeps a girlfriend even when he's lusting after her and then laughs at the possibility of h having a love life?

Wow, this was terrible.
The heroine (22) is asked by the slut hero (36) to move in to look after his niece whilst his brother and SIL are in hospital for two months. The very first night he goes out on a date, then spends the rest of the WHOLE book dating 3 women, including having them for intimate dinners whilst she is in the house. He laughs at her for her virgin status, is rude and smug, and even when he is jealous of her cousin, it comes off badly.
Why she loves him I do not know. They have no chemistry and he’ll regret the day he married her, because he’s clearly just interested in quantity and not quality.
I never like nanny tropes, but this was next level demeaning for the heroine.

3 1/2 Stars ~ Two year old Lucie's parents were very late in picking her up from her day nursery, and Finnia was growing very concerned. With the day nursery's manager having left early on her own emergency and all the children's records duly locked up, Finnia had no way of searching for contact information. Finally a man shows up, tall and fair and very good looking, and claiming to be little Lucie's uncle, her father's brother. Apparently Lucie's parents have been in a terrible accident and both are in a serious way at the hospital. He's come to collect her, only when Finnia looks at his identification she voices her concern that his surname doesn't match that of his brother's. Not sure if she should release the child in his care, she says she'll have to go with them to make sure Lucie is safe. Jeger is actually relieved that Finnia insists staying with the child and agrees to her demand. With both parents in such a terrible way, and the grandparents away, Jeger convinces Finnia to stay on with him and Lucie for a few months. While Lucie adapts very well to the new living arrangements, that can't be said for either Jeger or Finnia.

Fennia simply couldn't refuse to help - she just had to resist slipping into the role of temporary wife as well!

This is book 2 in the cousin's series. Since it wasn't available on Kindle, which I hope will be remedied soon, I had to read books 1 and 3 in the series while I waited for this paperback to arrive. Yancie's story was super funny. A Feisty Fiance. This is Finnia's story, and it was super cute. Astra is the final story. A Marriage in Mind. You can read them out of order, but the characters are introduced in Yancie's story. Some spice that is easy to skip. Even though it gets spicy, Jessica Steele generally has her characters end up as chaste brides, and all three cousins kept their pact to save themselves for marriage. Cute series.

I’ve purchased this book a few months ago from a local book sale. I haven’t read Harlequin books for a long long time and when I read its book summary, it strengthen my will to purchase it. But dang! I wish I didn’t. Expectations really hurt. But luckily, I was able to finish the story without totally ditching it.
It was so boring that I can’t help but skip some lines. Though honestly, I haven’t read a story before with the same plot, but I just hate how the author weaved its story. And what’s more excruciating is that the author doesn’t use very reader friendly words. While reading it, I keep on consulting my friend Meriam D. for the meaning, and that sucks. This is actually my first time reading a book from this author and I don’t think I’ll hang around and read other books from her. I guess adult romance isn’t for me.
I sounded like I really hated the story that much eh? So why 2 stars? Well, I also need to give credits to those times (I think that was twice) this book made me feel “kilig” and smile. So that’s it. That’s behind those intriguing 2 stars rating.
About its characters. Well, honestly, I don’t find Jeger (main male character) that appealing. It’s really hard to picture out how he looks like. And Fennia (main female character)! I really hated her character. She keeps on stammering which is really annoying. And the part where the two of them confessed on each other’s feelings? My oh my! Can’t the author think of other romantic scene for that?!
Oh well, I just realized that this book isn’t worth my money. (sorry author for being so bluntly honest)
