Unfortunately the book I read was published in 1994 so the first 3 chapters were outdated. The rest of the book was a reference guide to North American wildlife. I have read many books about wildlife, this one had a lot of information that was new to me. Most of it is still relevant but there was some outdated information. Most of it was concerning the status of endangerment. In spite of that I would recommend it as a source of information. I couldn't find an updated version. I hope the CA Center for Wildlife undertakes the job of writing an updated version. It would be worth the cost to buy it.
