One of my all time favourite children's books. I read it time and again to my sons when they were small and look forward to reading it with my grandchildren soon.

We follow the diverse characters of Willy, Wally, Tilly and the narrator on their adventure across the African plains in 'The Cross With Us Rhinoceros'. To their surprise, they encountered a huge rhinoceros that starts charging towards them. At first, the adventurers panic at the sight of a rhinoceros chasing them, but first impressions are not all that it seems. The book addresses themes of friendship and not judging a book by its cover.
The rhyming pattern and structure of the book make it flow well. It feels like you are walking the pages with the characters, travelling from left to right throughout the book. This includes walking, running, climbing up trees and travelling across hills. Overall, this is a great picture book with a rhyming text that is an enjoyable read.
