Did not have the info I wanted. for example, it had that breakdown of some people want a fancy breed of chickens for show and/or pets and some people want a meat chicken and some people want egg chickens but when they went over the breeds they didn't say which was which for almost any of them. I will probably just get the Storey chicken book or find something more what I am looking for.

i learned that chickens ovulate almost every day. But you can't expect a hen to produce 365 eggs a year. Around 180 is considered average. This book is filled with these types of mcnuggets.

Good if you want to raise chickens, either in your urban backyard (if zoned) or on a family farm.

Great resource book. Good, personable, and fun writing. I'll probably get chickens next year, once my own little chicks are a bit more under control.
