I met Dusty at a craft fair when I was 10. He said Kinch was a cool name so he would put me in his next book. Sure enough, Kinch is an outlaw in Longhorn part 2, gets shot by the Hondo Kid within 2 pages of being introduced trying to thieve cattle. Five stars. Hell yeah.

Another good western book by this author. Love the characters and story, one of the better western reads out there. I could not give it a five like I did the first one in the series but I still gave it a four, I did this because I felt the beginning of the Kid was a little too much. Insane that, again, a great read.

The other brother. The narrator, Eugene Engene, makes these books. He's got the inarticulate tough male down pat.

I liked the idea of a young gun fighter..... but in the end the book got to be average.
