This movie is such a core memory for me...that I couldn't help but to pick up the book version for my little one.

For the uninitiated - Spirit was a 2002 movie following a wild mustang stallion (named Spirit) as he lived, was captured, freed, and saved many horses. I'm not doing it justice - but let's just say that this movie jump started my horse girl era.

I mean, I can't be the only one who...may have fallen a bit in love with Spirit as a child. (RIGHT?)

This book follows the movie from major plot-point-to-plot-point, complete with long-ish paragraphs explaining what was happening on the screen at that time.

It was a fun way to re-experience the original movie (though, nothing truly comes close to seeing it in theaters for the very first time).

Also, can we talk about that soundtrack for the movie? As I read this picture book, I couldn't stop hearing the songs that would go along with the scenes in my head. Gorgeous!

even tho we JUST watched this, David would look at a frame of pulled directly from the movie and say "that wasn't in it." also colonel is such an outrageously pronounced word.
