"When cats are happy, people are happy and the Earth is happy," says beloved wildlife photographer Mitsuaki Iwago. In this irresistibly adorable collection, Iwago has chosen his favorite cat photosand proves that the nuances of a cats life are indeed as magical and glorious as the most exotic wildlife. Curious Cats is a captivating exploration of what makes felines such incredibly stunning creatures.
Even my cat meowed his approval after pawing his way through this enchanting little book! Simply gorgeous book featuring the charming and exquisite cat photography of Mitsuaki Iwago. Only a small sized book but has more beautiful and beguiling photos that most books double the size have.
All outdoor cats, of all shapes, colors and designs, discovering the world the way only cats seem to be able to.
Lots of mama cats with kittens which will enchant. Cats in all sorts of poses as they go about their carefree days, displaying the sort of effortless athletic prowess that would do a gymnast proud. No humans and only a couple of dogs - THIS IS A CAT'S ONLY WORLD!
Not a bad photo in this lovely collection and if you are any sort of cat fancier (or animal lover), this little delight from a brilliant wildlife photographer, will be quite irresistible.
I seem to have become addicted to Mitsuaki Iwago's photographs . Local libraries are woefully lacking in his works , so I am scouring the used book clearing houses for my own copies !
Loved this! It's a quick read with it being mostly photographs and a little text here and there. The gorgeous photos are the star attraction, but the whole package is wonderful. The photos are taken by a world-renowned photographer, and, even if I have no formal photography training, I'd believe it. The photos are vibrant, capture the moment beautifully, depict so much character, and evoke such emotion, taking it beyond just cute cat pictures. I just wanted to take my time admiring the photos. I am reading another cat book, Felines of New York, and those pictures seem amateurish by contrast, almost boring, and, though they look to be taken in their actual environment rather than in studio, the background is prominent and detracting. In Curious Cats, I'm not sure if the photos were sets or actual places, but they look like they are convincingly in actual places rather than studio or sets, but the background adds to the photos in a subtle way that balances out the subject. All of the photos look like they are taken outside and the sunlight adds to the vibrancy. The layout is nice, with sometime solo shots are a combination of takes for a subject. There is a mix of solo cats and families or several playing together. The few lines here and there fit the tone and add to it. It is not wordy or in your face inspirational like these cute quote books.
i love these little cat books, i can't imagine i'd actually buy any but i love the fact that they keep on writing them meoww!
a wonderful and succinct domestic wild life book, shot by an actual wild life photographer, a fascinating pictorial study of cat behavior without being dry and academic about it .
i actually would buy this as it happens, judge not a book by its cover nor by a quick flick through.
Love the adorable action shots. There is only one picture of a void, which I consider a hate crime, but does not significantly affect how much serotonin my brain creates. Fantastic coffee table book.
