I am no professional chef, but I was able to understand, and even make some of these scrumptious recipes.
This book is great for beginners because most of the recipes are very simple to make. Also, in the beginning of the book there are numerous pages that teach you how to use certain kitchen tools, and when it is appropriate to use them. There are also many pages that talk about spices you will use and sauces you will make. After all of this information the recipes begin!
The recipes are put into 21 categories that consist of “Breakfasts and Brunches,” “Party Snacks,” “Soups,” “Meat,” “Hot Desserts,” “Drinks,” etc.… Once you find a recipe you like, the rest is simple. Most of the recipes only require three or four ingredients, making your shopping list nice and short.
Almost every recipe takes up its’ own page, with a large picture of the final product and a small picture of each step. There are no complicated cooking terms in the easy step-by-step instructions, so this is another plus for beginners. Every recipe also includes a small description of when it would be appropriate to make each particular food. Finally, some recipes even include special tips that are extremely helpful.
Again I suggest this book for all beginners, but really anyone who enjoys cooking would be satisfied with it.
