My 6 year old daughter checks out the chapter books of this series each time we go to the library. She won't read them or let me read them to her, but looks at the pictures and holds the books as if they're treasure. She flipped over this book, even sneaking off and decorating the "this book belogs to" page with swirly letters, hearts and stickers, because "we get to keep it forever and ever". The story is super simple, but, at least it has something of a story, as many early readers don't. Full color illustrations.

A nearly tragic wand-switching accident has caused foods for the "feast of all colors" to be the wrong color. Quick thinking and sophisticated wand-work by the 7 rainbow fairies saves the day.

I needed to know what the deal was with the creepy-looking frog man hiding in the bushes on the cover. And I also wanted to know if those were really blue strawberries (they are).

Supposedly frog man is a friend and was creeping around because he's hungry and waiting for the picnic to start.

A fun little story about colors with a cute magical mix-up.

Fairly typical fairy book - we've read a few books by this author and while they aren't my favorite, our girls seem to love them. This one has a plot that involves mixed up color wands.
