Not terribly realistic, but cute!!

A super sexy country singer, Nash Rhodes, comes to a small town for a concert and, through some matchmaking of epic proportions on the part of a local B&B owner, Suzie, is thrust into the path of local woman (Mary Lou Picketts) Suzie's just randomly taken pity on and made over... So I guess on the part of the heroine, it's a bit of a cliche, and on the part of the hero, it's farfetched...

But that being said, I quite enjoyed it! It was a very short story, so there wasn't much back story on either hero or heroine and it all came together very quickly... but somehow the author managed to make them fit and give them chemistry. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, of course. :) I thought we needed more on the heroine; more of why she was the way she was, you know? I get the wallflower thing, but I wanted more of an explanation there.

So overall, cute story with definite chemistry, but a bit barebones for me, personally. I think reading the first book (or 2) in the series first might have helped me believe the Suzie element more.

This story wasn't for me. I very open when it comes to romance, but to me, cheating is a no no. And that's what Mary Lou does. Even after sleeping with Nash, she still think it's a good idea to go down the aisle to marry Thurman. How wrong is that? If you don't love the guy, break with him, and then sleep with the hunk. And do it in that order, not the other way around.
This was my first book from Maddie James. I'll give her a second chance because until the cheating part, the story was fine.

Suzie Matthews has her own happiness with her husband and new cookbook, but when she sees local wallflower Mary Lou Pickett she sees frumpy and unsettled. Rumor has it Mary Lou is planning to marry the most boring man in town, but when Suzie sees a spark when Mary Lou is looking at a poster of country music star Nash Rhodes, Suzie sets the wheels in motion hoping they are a perfect match.

Sweet Story, I am always a sucker for makeover stories and Mary Lou is not quite the white swan at the end but she is herself which makes her irresistible to Nash. Looks to be a really fun series.

This story starts out at a good pace and an interesting story line of a local bed and breakfast owner taking up the task of match-maker. Her character and that of her husband are charming.
From there it escalades into a scene between a star-struck fan and hearthrob country singer. It plays out like something a teenage girl would write.
And if that seems a bit much it then moves into even a higher octave of the same but mixed with a very descriptive sex and some type of soul match up between these strangers. And that about sums it up.

This is not clean. Too graphic. Starts out clean. Ends with a shallow sexual tryst and marriage
