I currently started + finished the book Mallory in the Spotlight by Laurie B. Friedman. Mallory in the Spotlight is a really good book in many different ways. First, because it teaches you how to think about others and how they feel not only about yourself. Also because I have many things in common with the story and I bet you will too! One of the things I have in common is that I've read an offensive email one of my best friends wrote about me to one of the people who are really mean to me. Another thing is that I have auditioned for a play but my friends wasn't to happy about it and she wasn't really talking to me after I got in. Overall this is a great book and I bet you will love it (it will make more sense if you read the rest of the series with it).

Mallory and her best friend are drifting apart, and it's not helping that Mallory got the lead in the school play and her friend didn't get any part at all. Miscommunication is the problem here, but will Mallory figure this out before the two split forever?
This is a good transitional chapter book with snappy dialogue and a plot that moves along briskly.
