It is her first year of high school and Suzy prays that this year will be different—new friends, parties, lots of dates—not just sitting around with the other girls. She wants to be "Suzy Somebody" and maybe even fall in love. Then she meets Peter Gilbert and finds out about love...and heartbreak...and she wishes desperately that she could be "Suzy Nobody" again!
Okay so, I'm young and I don't normally pick books up like this. Except this time. It wasn't required. The cover and the title might not grab ur attention just like it didn't grab mine, but after a few pages, u can't stop reading it. I couldn't put it down. I went everywhere with it. It's not the type of book to be predicted, there are many twists that keep u wondering. It's an amazing book. U should be the judge of that, though. Her problems and thoughts are what young teen girls, clumsy and in love, stuck on the outside, falling in with the right crowd but wanting to be on the wrong because they seem right from a distance . It's really an amazing book .
See that mopey looking teenager up there staring raptly at herself in a mirror? Well, that's our "heroine" Suzy. If the thought of spending a hundred or so pages in her empty head makes you break out in hives I would stay away. Seriously. Stay far, far away. 1.5 stars
Loved these books outside of the fact that there were no characters of color. This book actually piqued my interest in Emily Dickenson. Suzy recounts the poem-/ I’m nobody. Who are you……
