The resulting book is approximately one-third shorter and one-third less expensive. The pedagogical format and chapter structure of the full edition have been maintained in the Brief Edition, and students will also have unrestricted access to the full ancillary package, including the Digital History Center.

Used for "Western Thought Since 1600" course. As historical texts go, this one isn't bad. If my students had bothered to read it, it would have greatly helped them comprehend the material. As the TA, this work successfully pulled me through a lot of areas in which I have no training.
