Simple sentences that are perfect for my Aussie mind. The book talks about rulers and how they came to be called a ruler and also feet, inches and yards. All forms of measurement that I’ve had to adjust to as we don’t use these terms in Australia. It’s been an adjustment to me as I need to help my daughters with their first grade homework....Don’t even start me on common core math, maybe there’ll be a book out there that can explain that to me! Lol.

Informational text for early readers. This explores the basics of units of measurement. Some of the wording could have been more clear.

This is an informational book about measurement and length. The photographs are large and shows real-life connections/situations. The photographs also help explain the text. This book includes an index and a "words to know" vocabulary section. This helps beginning readers reinforce the text. This book would be a great Math resource to use when teaching standard units such as inches, feet, yards and non-standard units such as crayons and paper clips.
