Young travelers will delight in this colorful journey. Along the way from country to city, they'll learn about different colors and modes of transportation, and sing along with Fred Penner to the catchy road-trip song.
This book tells the story of yellow car driving home from grandpa’s house. The car describes the various other transportation modes (ex. helicopter, train, tractor, etc) that it sees on the way home. It is repetitive rhyme that children can easily read along with. At the end of the story, there is a map showing the route the car takes home from grandpa’s house. This would be a great book for talking about geography in the classroom. This book could help students explore direction and location with maps or understanding various modes of transportation.
Yes, get this book, read this book, enjoy this book. The rhyming story and illustrations as the family travels from Grandpa's back home are delightful. Busy pictures and plenty going on to chat about. Rather reminds me of the car games we used to play. The music cd intro is much too long but once you get to the story it is enjoyable.
3.75 Stars I don't have a CD but I can guess this is a sing along song, because I was sing songing along in my head.
This is very basic vehicles and colors books. GREAT for preschoolers. Anyone else might want to bang their head again the way with the annoying repetition!
I'll definitely use this but mostly because I think it would make a great extension activity. A family travels home from grandpas and passes places and things that all are all color specific. Each page has a building and a color object associated with it.
