I have never read a book about a place I have lived in before, so this was quite the treat. Wawona is an idyllic, beautiful, sleepy little town. Most people who visit Yosemite National Park bust past it on the way to the Valley but there truly is so much historic significance to be found here, I’m truly overwhelmed by it. From Galen Clark to the Washburn Brothers, the creation of the Wawona Hotel to the Chinese Laundry and formation to the roads. I loved this. Would highly recommend and shoutout to my boss for lending it to me!

This book would have gotten five stars if it had explained what happened to his family (I didn't know he had a wife). This is a fantastic biography with some great photos included. You'll probably end up not feeling very good about Scotty, but it's worth it. This book explains a great deal.

Very interesting local history. I was surprised to learn that Frank Lloyd Wright was asked to design the castle but another architect was chosen.
