My thoughts on: “Thinking Through the Past: A Critical Thinking Approach to U.S. History: Volume II: Since 1865 are as follows”…it was very comprehensive, exploring all points of view on the chapter topics. Some of the excerpts from the primary sources were quite lengthy – I can only imagine how long the actual documents are! Geez!! However, they were very impassioned on the feelings the people represented. Reading history has never been one of my favorite things, but it was nice reading the wealth of sources and the secondary sources were enlightening—but it shows how out of touch some people are.

I love these types of books. This is wonderful because it has a plethora of useful primary and secondary sources of many topics of American History from 1865 until just recently. This is exactly what I would use if I were teaching any history class 8th grade and up!
