There are 2 types of potty books. Some try to give detailed step by step procedures (accidents, being independent, underwear, etc.). Some try to show the process briefly. For my 2 year old, the first kind have way too many words. This book is very simple and talks through what this little boy/hippo does on the potty (play I spy, read, talk to bear). This is perfect for a younger child; my daughter loves it.

A little hippo learns to use the potty.

A good basic book for children who are toilet training. A little hippo sits on a children's potty and his teddy bear sits on an actual pot. They play with toys, reads a book, and plays a game until he he goes pee-pee. Hooray! Then he washes his hands.

Simple, concise, positive potty book. I have two charges who are beginning in potty training, and this looks good for both. I hadn't thought of books/toys just to keep in the bathroom, I'm going to suggest that to my families and see if that helps.

Potty training is my favorite aspect that I love to teach children. The reason being this certain task will follow them for the rest of their lives. Children learn the steps and can also be encouraging for other children who are struggling.
