How To Be A Cancer Patient is a must read for patients, their advocates and anyone involved with caring for cancer patients.
Cancer patients need two things – less stress and a plan to manage themselves and their interaction with the care system.
How To Be A Cancer Patient delivers universal tools, in an easy to understand format, that addresses these vital needs for patients with any type of cancer diagnosis. The easy-to-use tools and strategies were developed through the experiences of a process driven cancer survivor who endured two surgeries, 15+ days of inpatient hospital stays for chemo and complications and 15 doses of radiation. It also includes honest, raw and sometimes hilarious accounts on how these tools were developed during the course of a LOT of cancer treatment.

Before you can advocate for yourself, you really need to have the right mental orientation so you can think clearly when you engage with your care team.

As I am facing my own Lymphoma journey, I found so many life affirming pieces of advice here. Many times the blogs he kept had me laughing out loud. He had an amazing support system and a great attitude. Cancer is so scary and really messes with your head, especially all of the waiting. It feels isolating so it is great to have someone share their story and give advice.
I won the Kindle version of this book from the Goodreads Giveaways. It wasn’t too long of a read, about 182 pages. There was a lot of personal stories to explain his way of thoughts, interesting to read. I like to say that this book is for exactly what the title says, being a patient. It doesn’t really go into the details of detoxing and cleansing the body of parasites or taking herbs. (Other options to help) It tells you a lot of information about the hospital visits and how he over came all his struggles (you can tell this book was NOT AI written! So thank you sooo much for that). Would recommend for people going through the same thing. Also even so much as telling you what to take to the hospital and some recipes to cook at the end of the book.
Jeff's book is a major tool for those experiencing the journey cancer can take you through. Although I haven't had cancer myself, I have so many loved ones who have been affected and grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow to better support them. I am eager to keep a copy on my bookshelf at all times and gift to those facing this battle! Thanks Jeff for sharing this with the world - much needed!
