started reading this last year and had to read slowly to ingest, process, reflect- it's not a text entirely accessible for someone who's new to his writing (would suggest "the Inner Life" for that), but it's a deep exploration of what he talks about elsewhere- mainly on refining our art of personality through practices of purification and self control to achieve a state of harmony between body, mind, spirit, aligned w/ Buddhist, Taoist, other Sufi teachings (words may change, but the message is always the same). in gratitude for having the privilege to read / return to the center of the circle, for being given the time to reflect on it all. there were many pages in this book i took pictures of, but i wanted to share a quote from the last essay:
"Everything that helps man to approach the beauty of God is sacred. Therefore art can become religion. It would not be an exaggeration to say that there is no better religion than art itself."
