The ending is rubbish. This is the end of their story. There is no end. Nothing happens. Don’t waste your time reading. The entire book is left open with no direct follow up.
Until it got weird with the literary disaster of a sex scene somewhere around 85% of the way through.
I had to scrap my first review because it dissected the unfortunate scene in detail. Frankly the entire scene read as though it was written by two or more people who didn’t bother to consult with each other.
It was painfully cringeworthy, it used obscure almost Victorian language, with the phrasing veering from one extreme to another - archaic and outlandish to contemporary romantic.
The rest of the story was great, predictable sure but still a good easy read. Ignoring the weirdness I still want to check out more by this author.
I would have given this book maybe three stars, or two at least but the author ruined it at the end.
The concept of the book was solid, that's why I was considering three but, the ending SUCKED HARD. It was as if the author lost interest in her own book.
There was zero closure on their relationship. We don't know if she confessed or what his reaction would have been. So that sucks.
We have no closure on Marcus, other than him being arrested.
And then, the cherry on top.
The note from the author at the end!
"You will look for contraceptives in vain in this book. Why is that? The story takes place in your imagination and should give you a carefree time and carefree reading pleasure. In this world, all billionaires have six-packs and are really good in bed. STDs don't exist in this world!"
Yeah, see, we as readers, getting lost in a contemporary romance WANT to see.their men being responsible. Whether it be birth control OR verbally accepting the responsibility of a child should it come to pass. THAT is a turn on, not this note from the author.
Hey jackass, that's not an "after note", that's something you put at the beginning as a warning label, so we as your readers, can decide if we WANT to continue or not.
I would have still read the book but I wouldn't have been confused about birth control methods.
Honestly, the book could have been better but, SHE ruined ruined it.

Where do I start? The writing is wooden and mechanical. There is no flow to the plot - Nate is void of any emotion and Ava is ridiculously naive. I’m not sure if the author was going for domestic abuse survivor or romance but doesn’t achieve either it is so disjointed. I'm not even sure why I bothered finishing it. There is no chemistry between the main characters and the sex scenes are rather odd - written more like a report than a steamy plot. One of the worst books I’ve read. Should be a minus 1 star.
I didn’t connect with this book. It felt bland and fell flat from my expectations. I was hoping for adventure and a bit of suspense and it was just straight forward. I couldn’t feel their connection and intimacy was ok not spicy. She seemed a bit easy and both of their parent issues were unresolved. I applaud the author for taking the time to write the book and help us be aware of women’s issues hope it helps someone out there
Sehr unterhaltsam geschrieben.
The good vibes ended with the premise. I really wanted to like this book, but the writing style put me off. As other reviewers have mentioned, the character development felt lacking, and the spicy scenes were far too overwritten. It often felt as though the author was trying to cram in as much vocabulary as possible at once. I wanted to love it, but I’m tapping out here.
Two stars is generous, one is not enough. Poor character development; underdeveloped at best. It’s rushed and poorly written. If a high schooler was asked to write what they believed a woman thought a romance novel was, this would be their final exam paper.
Siendo generosa.... Lo he leído saltando párrafos pesados.
No mames wtf ! Al menos hubiesen hecho un epilogo 🤔
I enjoyed Nate and Ava's story. She is a very strong character, surviving and overcoming a difficult situation. Nate eventually gets out of his own head. The ending is abrupt and not satisfying, which resulted in only a 3 star rating
Not well written. Half of the book are her and his thoughts, which seem to belong to a teenie but not an adult. Boring. I jumped over several pages of their thoughts ("I love him but will not be the one to make the first step; I drink to much instead of talking to her") to get to a boring end.

This was so much more than I was expecting, loved every page and struggled to put the book down at times. The chemistry the story makes you feel like you are living the love story
It was a good story , although the author could not decide if the name of the company was Brockton or Brockman, switched between the two, which spoiled it a bit
