I didn't find that many recipes in this book that I want to try in our caravan, although that may be because I'm vegetarian, nearly plastic-free and live in the tropics. The recipes seemed often too sophisticated for my young family, and not as simple as I'm used to, and yet the author has two young children.
But Ashleigh Butler must be given credit for coming up with ways to cook cake, pizza, pie, mousse and spring rolls in a tiny van kitchen! I was pleased to see the recipe for Pearl Couscous Salad, because couscous was lacking in Sarah Wilson's book "Simplicious Flow" - couscous is great because it's so easy to use and can be bought unpackaged. I think Butler's recipes could do with more suggestions for alternative (more mainstream) ingredients.
The book needed a bit more editing, too. For example, the Fish Tacos recipe does not have tortillas in the ingredients list, and the recipe on page 189 doesn't have flatbreads on the ingredients list even though the chicken is to be served with flatbreads.
I enjoyed the start of the book best, the part about adjusting to a small kitchen, as I was preparing to move into a caravan. The author's small kitchen is beautiful and inspiring and the photography in the book is excellent.
