Wealthy American actress Candi Maitlin needs a bodyguard to escort her to an orphanage where she wants to adopt a little girl. While trying to reconnect with April in South Africa, Tennyson agrees to help Candi, not realizing the mess he is walking into.

Months later, Candi is married to a South American billionaire and the couple asks Tennyson to act as a bodyguard at the child’s birthday party. But something terrible goes wrong and the little girl is kidnapped. Fired by Candi and her husband, Tennyson is overwhelmed with guilt and can’t let the case rest. Soon he has discovered that the kidnappers are part of a Pan-African gang who operate in the United States. As Tennyson struggles to unravel the lies that surround the case—including the ones Candi tells him—the baby’s life is at stake.

This thrilling page-turner will have readers waiting with bated breath to discover what lies behind the secrecy and causes men and women to risk jail (or worse) to gain power and wealth—even if it means risking the life of an innocent child.

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

Summary: This collection of 6 stories range from Pre-level 1 to Level 1. Pre-level 1 is where recognizing words is the objective. Repetition, familiar words and phrases, and simple sentences are used in the first 2 stories. The last 4 stories are Level 1, where starting to read is the objective. These stories are simple, have increased vocabulary, and longer sentences. My favorite feature of the Level 1 stories is the use of rebus icons, so children can learn vocabulary. They make reading with my 2 year old more interactive, and it makes her feel so special because she feels like she is reading! It's by far her favorite book. We read it at least once a day, and sometimes even more. It has even been taken to school for Show and Tell!

Lesson idea: This book is a great read aloud for younger children, then transitioning for them to read it with an adult or alone. Any Dora lover will want to read this book over and over again!

This book is a primary reader, suitable for a first grade-level student. The collection of six stories uses large print and simplified language as well as some pictures within the text to teach words. (It sort-of reminded me of hieroglyphs as I was reading through the stories, with occasional words shown under a picture of what the word represents.) It has nice illustrations featuring the familiar Dora the Explorer.

This book actually has 6 little stories in one. They are meant to help pre-readers learn to start "sighting words." My daughter can read the first book because we have read it often enough and she just says "No mommy, I want to read it." So I let her read to me, and we enjoy 2-3 stories a night.

Okay, I admit that I have read all six in a row sometimes but if you have kids, you know how it is.

Our girls have just adored the Dora series of books - we have read the ones we own over and over and over and over and... Now that they are growing out of them, I hate to go back and read them. But our youngest picked this one out at her school book fair, so I obligingly read all of the stories with them. I'm not the biggest fan of rebus books, but our girls seem to like them.
