Rate this book
The four hundred marks reproduced in this book represent the diverse array of identity work produced by Pentagram's partners, past and present, since the company was founded in 1972. Over the past four decades, Pentagram has designed marks for large corporations and small businesses, government agencies and non-profit institutions, clubs andsocieties, and even individuals, all of whom were seeking a representative symbol to appear on letterhead and books, buildings and websites, and everywhere else imaginable.

Previously only distributed in a limited edition, this invaluable book is now made available in a paperback version and will provide inspiration for all graphic designers working on identity projects.

This is an exceptionally good collection of logos from Pentagram. Even though it's printed in black and white, the logos are visually strong, distinct and classy. The variety of style is great and varied. The client list is also impressive, from small businesses to well known corporations.

Highly recommended to logo designers.

Each logo commands one page, giving it ample space to breathe. I think this is a good decision because logo compendiums can be very overwhelming when logos are presented in a grid. Also, the logos are all printed in black & white, which draws greater attention to their form. I think Pentagram Marks is a good reference book for anyone interested in logo design.
