Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction.

Doyle was a prolific writer. In addition to the Holmes stories, his works include fantasy and science fiction stories about Professor Challenger, and humorous stories about the Napoleonic soldier Brigadier Gerard, as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels. One of Doyle's early short stories, "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement" (1884), helped to popularise the mystery of the brigantine Mary Celeste, found drifting at sea with no crew member aboard.

In the Morning when he was Investigating he found Heidegger body was laying in bush and when he check Heidegger was already died. When investigating he go to the Green Man Inn and meet Mr Rueben Hayes. At the in when they were checking the duke secretary James Wilder ride quickly with his face white and afraid. In the morning Holmes ask Duke for his cheque for this case and it turns out that the Duke kidnap his own son because Holmes saw them last night. After that the duke write the cheque and turns out that James Wilder is the Duke son. So the Duke begin to tell the story that James of a son from from his first love but she died and she leave her child to the Duke but Jame hate all the Duke family so James kidnap his first son Arthur and bring him to the Green Man Inn but mr Heideger followed them so Hayes killed him. After all things came out Holmes excused himself and said that he was just a poor man. For me this book is very good because it thought us many mystery with easy words and with the plot twist ending it adds a sense of surprise for us readers but for me the book would be more good if they make the story more detail for me the score is 9/10 because of the school story and not boring for us reader

Finally, I met Sherlock Holmes, and I am very happy. I was biased before reading the book because I thought it might be lame and filled with absurd connections. The story wasn’t perfect, but for a book, it was clever enough to enjoy.

3.5*

I think this version of the story was dumbed down so much, not just in terms of the level, but also the story and some of those loose ends.

It just felt like some bits and pieces of the puzzle were missing for me.
